The Norwalk Oyster Festival gets 50,000 people a weekend if the weather is good, making it the highest publically attended event we do in New England. As always for 2009, it rained. We were going to break out the Barbeque Train again here for the Norwalk Best Booth contest, but due to the weather we didn't. The booth theme was "Patriotism", and our red, white, and blue tablecloth apparently was enough to net us 11th place. That would lead us to try something a little more ambitious for 2010.
For the contest, we tried out something...old. We used the same recipes from the August contest in Maine. Now on our second try at doing exactly the same thing, our scores improved. We weren't taking the world by storm, but it was the first time in 2009 we started to head in a more positive direction.
Due to scheduling issues, Chris and Joan cooked this contest without Ann and Paul present for the first time.
