Harpoon is an invitation only event that is one of the few New England events that allows teams to vend food. It's a well run, fun event - and a lot more work for the teams that are trying to compete and vend at the same time.
For our first trip to Harpoon, we decided to vend only on Sunday. Our first time out as a food vendor was a challenge. We didn't plan our processes well enough and ended up opening late and really knocking ourselves out trying to turn product out. The BBQ continued our 2009 trend of being in the back of the pack.
Harpoon also has a Best Booth contest, Chris brought his G-Scale "Barbeque Train" out for a spin. The train didn't win, but he had fun with it, and the crowds loved it. His teammates thought it took much too long to set up. (Lesson learned: lay the track before setting up everything else)
