ZBQ is a team of barbeque enthusiasts who discovered the fun of competition barbeque in 2006. After being introduced to smoked beer can chicken by Chris, the rest of us were promptly hooked. (Remember kids, smoking is very addictive). We have four core members that attend most competitions (Chris, Joan, Paul, and Ann) and our extended team joins us whenever they can.
Every year we have grown in our love of BBQ and competition. We have been competing more and traveling further each year. 2008 was a break out year for us with our first top finish - the First Place Brisket in the Connecticut State Championship in Westport, CT. 2009 saw us enter a record number of events, and we are looking forward to a fantastic 2010. We love to have all of our fans and friends come visit us as we compete, except between the hours of 10am to 2pm on KCBS turn in day (usually Sunday) since we have to prepare and turn-in all of our entries during that time. It gets very intense during that time and we are usually in much better humor after that last entry has been turned in.
